God is With Me
Hebrews 13:5

Hearers of the Word:
Life Lesson:   If you have a wrong view of __________ you will have a wrong view of _____________!

Promise Number 1:  I will not ____________, God is with me.
 {See Romans 8:31}

Reality:  Promise Number 1 deals with Problem Number 1

  • God is _______________, but not with ________________.
  • God is not with the ___________.  {See Psalm 138:6}
  • God is not with the ____________.  {See James 4:4}
  • God is not with the _____________.  {See Isaiah 1:5}
  • God is not with those who _______ sin.  {See Psalm 66:18}

Statement of Truth:
Jesus Christ is not only with me but He is  actually _____________ and _____________  for me.

On Your Own:  Study -  2 Peter 1:4;  Deuteronomy 31:6; Psalm 34:18

Doers of the Word:

Questions to Consider:

1.  How does your view of God impact the way you view life?

2.  The problem addressed so far in this series is fear.  What
other common human emotion do we experience that this or other promises meet head on?

3.  From your  Biblical knowledge why do you think or not think
that fear is the complete state of anti-God?

4.    What can we do this week to present God’s desire to meet

the need of every human heart?   We must find ways to take this theoretical truth and apply it to our living.

A Powerful Promise
2 Peter 1:4

Quotable?
“Best of All, God is with us”
- John Wesley

Statement of Truth:     Do what is right because you know it to be right, and one day it will feel right.

Life Lesson:   God’s promises are great and precious.

I. God’s Promises are Great
Question?  What is so great about the promises of God?
    • They come from a Great God.
      ESV Psalm 145:3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
  •  The promises are great because they cover the great issues.
    ESV 2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
  •   The Promises are great because they lead to a great life.

II.  God’s Promises are Precious

  • Precious takes time.
  • Precious takes proving.

Statement of Truth:
Every promise you read about in the Bible deals with a corresponding problem we face in life.  {Example:  Fear}

Life Lesson:
The problem is not when fear visits us, the problem is when fear moves in to stay!

A Great  and Powerful Promise:  I will not fear for God is with me.

Questions to Consider:
  1. Do you tend to live life based on emotions or the promises of God revealed in His truth?

  2. What Promise from God do you rely on most in your life?

  3. How do you tend to deal with the problem of fear? {How should you deal with deal with the problem of fear?}

      1. What other problems do you face that God has promised to provide refuge for?

       4.    Pastor Steven said he believes that “Fear is the complete state of
                       anti-God”  Do you agree with this why or why not?

      5.      As a follower of Jesus Christ, what confidence do you gain
                    standing on the promise that God is with you?

Memorize:

ESV Hebrews 13:5-6  Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  So we can confidently say,  “The Lord is my helper;  I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
