Pastor on Politics: The long arm of Obama

Here is something that concerns me. Back in February I read an article entitled:   Chaplains risking "Treason" if they preach against Obama

Chad Groening at OneNewNow.com published an important article about President Obama's persecution of military chaplains:  The title grabbed my attention.

Chad Groening works for OneNewsNow – it is an online newspaper that is written from a Christian perspective.  Here is what Chad reports:  A former Navy chaplain was forced out of the service for praying publicly in Jesus' name while in uniform.   This man’s name is Gordon Klingenschmitt and he says that the Obama administration is clearly trying to censor military chaplains who dare to speak out against the pro-abortion and pro-homosexual agenda.  I think we should pay attention to this!

Friends, I think we should take a stand to protect military chaplains First Amendment rights.   Charges of 'sedition' and 'treason' if they preach against Obama, cannot continue!  Listen if it happens in the military now, in 5 – 10 – 20 years it will happen to civilian preachers like myself.

Can you fathom we now live in a country where our executive branch threatens Chaplains:  "You can't preach against me in chapel."

Does it bother you that the Obama Administration would directly threatened military chaplains with "sedition" or equivalent charges of "treason" if they dare to preach against his administrative abortion policies during optional Sunday worship inside military chapels?  It does me.

It seems to me that there now exist a conflict between the Catholic Church and the Obama administration policies on more than just the issue of insurance and contraceptives.  To me this new front is even more reaching.  Here is the issue as I see it:   In the U.S. military itself can the government control what Chaplin’s teach and preach?

All of us know how the Catholic Church was and is up in arms over the Department of health and human services ruling that would have made them buy insurance for things they consider sinful - contraception, sterilization and abortion, if that were not enough now they must fight another front with Catholic military chaplains.

We saw several bishops in our country who sent out letters to be read in their parishes saying that the Church 'cannot-and will not-comply with this unjust law.'

"Even the Archbishop, who is in charge of Catholic military chaplains sent out  a letter to all military chaplains urging their churches not to comply with this unjust law...

But guess what?  After he did, the Army's Office of the Chief of Chaplains sent out another communication forbidding Catholic priests who were in the military to read the letter, in part because it seemed to encourage civil disobedience, and could be read as seditious against the Commander-in-Chief.

Chaplains should be free to express their religious beliefs, and freely teach and counsel against immorality in our military.  But religious liberty of our military chaplains and troops is under attack.   Wake up America, let us take our heads out of the sand and beware.

Focus on the Family reports good news:  there is a representative in Kansas who introduced a bill aiming to protect chaplains and other members of the Armed Services who oppose homosexuality from being targeted for discrimination. It also seeks to keep military property from being used to perform same-sex ceremonies.  I looked up him this bill up at www.govtrack.us  and it has been sent to committee in hopes that it will never resurface.

In part, the Military Religious Freedom Protection Act (HR 3828) reads that 'a service member ‘cannot be denied promotion or other training opportunities for any sincerely held beliefs he has about the appropriate or inappropriate expression of human sexuality.'

Fundamental to the core of America is the protection of religious liberty, for crying out loud we were founded on the principle of religious freedom.  A few weeks ago when the executive branch threatened the judicial branch concerning this Obama care… I was outraged!  However, for the executive branch to interfere and intrude in religious principles and convictions is out right alarming.

Here is the bottom line:  our military exist to protect America.  The Military is called upon to provide a defense of our nation, protect our boarders and citizens, thus providing a continuance our freedoms.  It does not exist to promote or protect a limited social agenda.

According to the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, the threat of sedition immediately created a nerve-racking effect on free speech among the troops and a 'climate of fear' for chaplains.  Is that what we want?  A government that produces fear?  If our government produces fear in the military today – just how long will it be before that fear reaches into our minds as common citizens of the state?   These chaplains did not know what their rights were in this ever changing environment, especially when it came to addressing and speaking about homosexual behavior.  The issue of homosexually was a core issue in this debate.

When Paul the Apostle said God gave them over, literally this word means to hand over. God hands them over; he says you've come to the place where there is the suppression of the truth there is the rejection of who I am. There is rebellion in your heart to worship anything, So God comes to the place where be abandons man, he hands them over.  Basically God comes to the place where he says I am going to take my hands off of you!   He says I’m taking my hands away from you!    He does not just say this once he says it three times!  Maybe the “they” and ‘them” in Romans 1 verses 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, and v31 is us as Americans.

There is a signal sin throughout the scriptures.  There is a signal sin sent to culture throughout the Bible.  That signal sin says that God has his hands off of you now.  It is the signal that God has removed his hand from a culture.  It is the signal that God has said I no longer will be involved with you!    Now I want you to listen and pray for me – because this is not easy to preach!  You see it all the way through the word of God – it is the sin of homosexuality.  When you see that embraced in the culture it is a sign that God has turned you over.

Do you see the sign?

Cry for Help

While Muslim propaganda groups in the U.S. call for toleration and religious liberty for members of their faith, the same isn’t true in Muslim nations.  Don't believe me?  Read the links below!  In fact, many nations are being systematically purged of Christians. There’s no toleration for other faiths.

Last month, according to Open Doors, USA, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) included Egypt, Eritrea, Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan among 16 countries on its “Countries of Particular Concern” list.

The report from USCIRF says that “across the global landscape, the pivotal human right of religious freedom was under escalating attack.”

We need to speak out now with a renewed urgency!  We must fight for freedom of religion in our world and in our own country!   We must do so before we loose these privileges!

Take a moment and read more here from the Open Door ministries:  http://www.opendoorsusa.org/

Also, for a touching story  about the government of Sudan bombing their own people and how others are helping watching this testimony and cry for help:  http://www.samaritanspurse.org/InVideo/?bclid=957209661001&bctid=1565170055001

I encourage you to do the following:

1.  Pray.  Pray for our our leaders in our land to do what they can, and for governments around the world to  be kind and compassionate. Pray that tyranny around the world would be stopped and that justice, and healing would occur.

2.  Get involved locally.  You can make a difference if you take a stand.  You can change the world if you change your world!

3.  Give to Churches and organizations who are truly making a diference!

some other thoughts on JOY

On Wednesday evenings I have been working through the book of Philippians.  We have been looking at the subject of Joy and the need for inner joy in our life.  I have talked at length about the source of this inner joy being the person of Jesus Christ!  He takes up residence in our life and when he does we can't help but have a different perspective.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to speak the supernatural qualities of Christian joy without saying at the same time that many Christians fail to experience this joy, or perhaps other Christians lose it after the initial joy of their salvation. Often times circumstances bring us down, and instead of the victory that Christians should experience, many will suffer from depression.

It is a sad confession, and no doubt it is sad because it is true of so many Christians. This should not be. Instead of deep depression, there should be joy in the Lord that goes beyond our circumstances. Do you know this JOY? Perhaps you are saying, “I know that I should have it, and I would like to rejoice in the Lord always.  But the circumstances still get me down. How can JOY be sustained?” The answer is found in God’s word and we must follow it as we would a doctor's order. If you see a doctor about feeling tired and rundown he prescribes exercise in increased vitamin B then you go down the drugstore and buy vitamins, and you will carve out time in your day to exercise. In the same way if we lack Christian JOY, than we need to adhere to God's remedy.

One plus one equals two.  That's pretty simple arithmetic.  And to truly experience joy we have to put into practice this spiritual math that produces the experience of Joy.  In this life neither you nor I will ever master all the great truths of Scripture. The word of God is inexhaustible, like God himself, JOY is not dependent upon such mastery, if it were we would never really experience it. Instead our joy depends upon our relationship to God!  Enter life with him today and your life will be changed forever!  If there is to be the joy in the Christian life that there ought to be, there must be a deep and growing experience of the basic truths upon which our life is founded.

There is a great deal of unrest in this world and there will always be unrest for those who do not know Jesus Christ. Apart from him there is no true peace, no real joy, and certainly no happiness. If you are Christian tonight, let us determine to draw close to God, let us decide today to feed on the Scriptures, and trust that God will “fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him” Romans 15:13

Foolish Thinking from Foolish Hearts

I have been looking at at Romans chapter 1.  I will continue to do so in the weeks to come.    I have shared at Immanuel Baptist Church from that passage that there is a suppression of the Truth.  I believe that today you and I are living in a time when our culture is suppressing the Truth of God, we are refusing to recognize God as God and we refuse to worship God as God.  I also fear that what you read in Romans 1 is occurring in our very own nation.  We have been given over to our sinful desires and darkened hearts.  I fear that in our rebellion, we will as a nation wake up and realize the full judgment from God if we do not repent!

I’m going to get back to Romans 1 but before I do consider Ephesians chapter 2, Paul writes and says that we were dead in our trespasses and sins.  Listen:  NIV Ephesians 2:1-2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.   There once was a day when we were walking according to the Prince and the power of the air of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

That's what Scripture tells us.  Paul says you are spiritually dead, in your sins without Jesus Christ.  Yet, this world would have us to believe a different story!    There is a man who is pretty influential in our society.  His name is Eckhart Tolle.   I want to run through some things he teaches and compare them to the idea I spoke about last week on Suppressing the Truth:  Tolle would say that we are just spiritually unconscious.    Really?   Paul says we are spiritually dead not unconscious, and Christ through faith, in his grace has made us alive!   You remember                     NIV Ephesians 2:4-5 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,  made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-- it is by grace you have been saved.

When it comes to salvation, Tolle says, that goodness is already in you, and you need to allow it to emerge.   I do not know about you but I just see goodness emerging every night on the news!  (Yeah right)   When I look around I see goodness emerging out of people don’t you!    Amazing is it not!    Instead of goodness coming out what I see is a suppression of the truth occurring in our hearts as a society leading us more and more into a rejection of God, and living lives that are rebellious toward God!

Tolle has the idea that heaven is not a location or a place, but that heaven is the inner realm of the consciousness.   Is that right?   Lord, I hope not!   Jesus said in John chapter 4, “I go to prepare a place for you.”   Jesus said I am headed to a place

When it comes to Jesus, Tolle says that Jesus was no more God than you or I are God! He says the thing that was different about Jesus was that he was more aware of his connection to the life force.    That’s interesting because Jesus said, NIV John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.

Tolle says, that all religions are equally false and equally true.  What a brilliant statement!  Equally false and equally true, depending on how you use them.   He says if you believe that only your religion is true than you are using it to serve your ego.  Well, I suppose he is using his philosophy and religion and he is not serving his ego?  Give me a break!   (is it  just a serving ours because we believe the unique claim that Jesus Christ is the only way to God the father!)

When there is a suppression of the truth you begin to suppress parts of the word of God that you do not believe is true and that leads us to a mixed up idea of God and religious principles.   Please hear me today:  If you suppress the truth it leads to a rejection of God!

I want to read Romans 1:21 today:
NIV Romans 1:21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

This passage is a decline, a going down, a spiral out of control.   If you read this passage you will see it.   When there is a suppression of the truth there is a rejection of God and they become futile in their thought process!     Paul says that when you suppress the truth we become vain in your mind.   When you suppress the truth you become vain in your reasoning.  The word there thinking, is a compound word that means through and reason.  Paul says, reject the truth and we become empty in our ability to reason!  Rejecting the truth of God leads us to loose the ability to think through things rightly, or reason correctly!     Paul is saying that when man rejects God it has an impact on your mental process!

Look around you; our society does not make much sense.  Does it?  We are loosening the threads that have held us together, and without a revival we are in trouble! As a nation we are on a slippery slope of decline, and in this process it is making less and less sense.

When there is a suppression of God it impacts the way you think because you have rejected God the source of all right and reason! And that suppression and rejection has a negative impact on a life!   Now that word thinking or imagination depending on your translation is in a negative context.   In English those words are not normally negative are they?    We are told to reason, we are told to build our imagination, and we think all those things are good.  However, here in this passage I assure you it is very negative in this context!  This word speculation is negative throughout the entirety of the New Testament.    You find the root of this word over in 2 Corinthians 10:5 when Paul says, NIV 2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

So the concept is this:  When you have a rejection against God you are reasoning ability is not reliable.  It is biased, it is slanted and it is like the American news reports…  it does not make sense!

Look at what happens not just your mental process but also your heart!  Look at what he says:  they become darkened in their foolish heart!  The idea from Paul is this: their foolish heart is growing darker and darker and darker!   When you come to the place that you reject God as God, when you suppress what you posses in your knowledge about God, when you fail to worship God as God, the result is that your heart grows hard!

Eckhart Tolle and others in our culture say things like: “come and believe this and it will enlighten you.”   What does Shirley McClain say?  “Believe what I believe in because it brings enlightenment”   The suggestion is that we need to talk to a rock it because it will enlighten you.  Communicate with the dead spirit out there, it will enlighten you!  Paul says, it does exactly the opposite; it takes your foolish heart into a deeper darkness, and a deeper darkness.

In verse 22 Paul said: “Professing to be wise”, this is a reference to the educated and the social elite in Paul's day.  Those who reject God and suppress his truth believe themselves to be intellectually superior to you and me.  They see most of us as a Bible thumping southern folk who are uneducated.  We are nothing more than men or women whose needing a crotch to hold us up.  We are not enlightened enough to talk to a rock or to trust in a crystal and its power.   Beloved, can I remind you that the elite in Hollywood are worth millions and everyone in our nation today and throughout the world adores them, and they look at us as if we are crazy, or second class, because we are not enlightened. Paul says they think themselves to be wise but they have become morons, foolish.

Paul uses a word here to say that their mental capabilities are defective I'm not trying to be funny here but Paul is saying that when you reject God you begin to act as if you're retarded mentally.  There is a suppression of the truth, then there is the rejection of God, and the result is your reasoning then departs, your life becomes enslaved to sin, and your heart grows darker and darker, and then you think yourself to be the wisest man or woman on the earth but you are in actuality a fool, a moron.

The Biblical definition of a fool might surprise you… You read about a full a lot in the Proverbs and throughout the Old Testament, and occasionally in the New Testament.  We think the definition of a fool one who constantly makes mistakes.  No not at all! That is all of us!  All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.   All of us have made mistakes, and all of us continue to make mistakes.  Biblically speaking:  A fool is someone who continually believes error.  A fool is someone who will not be corrected in his error, and a fool is someone who trust in his error, and a fool is someone who desires you to embrace his error.

Every error out there wants us to embrace it and say it is equally as good as a truth.  And please here today:  there is not anything as good as my God!  There is no one as good as my Jesus!   A fool believes error as if it were true!  Nebal embraced error and refused to be corrected from error and trusted in error and wanted others to embrace the error!  That is a fool!  That is man in his own rationale.

GOD is NOT dead!

What happens when man will not surrender himself to God?  What happens in a society like ours that says God is dead, or that he doesn't exist at all?  What will become of a nation that says, we don't need God to govern our affairs?  What happens to that kind of society?  Look at NIV Romans 6:16 Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--…”

If we will not present ourselves to worship God then we will present ourselves to worship something else.  There is a suppression of the truth as Paul said in Romans 1, and when there is a suppression of the truth you have a subjection of mankind and it is because we have rejected the revelation of God.   Read NIV Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-- his eternal power and divine nature-- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Paul said there without apology, they cannot speak away their lifestyle, they cannot speak away their rejection of God, they are without excuse.  And people were always bring up to me, what about that person on the island never heard of Jesus Christ…  Let me let you in a little secret you won't have to answer for that man on the island who's never heard about Jesus Christ.  Unless God told you to go there you only have to answer for you.

In Acts 14:16

That's what God does for that man who never hears the gospel…  He reveals himself, and if that man worships the Creator God - God gives him more light.  But we have chosen to reject God and we are without excuse.  How do we know that they know that they are without excuse that they know there is a God?  Acts 17:22

They had an alter there to an unknown god and Paul says let me tell you who that unknown god is.    My point is this:  they knew of God did they not?   They may not have known everything,  but they knew he existed and yet they knew he existed….. when Paul came and presented the truth – they suppressed it and rejected it…  and  went on worshipping this and that and something else…

Beloved, today this I know:  everyone will stand before a sovereign God and mankind will have no excuse.   Especially those of us in the west who have been saturated with the Gospel.

In Acts 14:14-17

Here are Paul and Barnabas,  they are witnessing in Lystra and Derbe.  While they were there a crippled man from birth listened to Paul speak had faith and Paul told him to get up and walk.    When the people saw what had happened:  they began to say that Paul and Barnabas were gods in human form walking among them.  Paul  says to them look we are no gods, but we have been sent by God to bring you good news, to tell you to turn from these worthless things and find the living true God!   He tells them in verse 17 that God has left a testimony!

For someone to deny the existence of God that individual has to suppress the truth every day.  Every morning the sun rises up in the east and every evening its rays sit in the horizon of the west and even though it is 93 million miles away, it is the source of our human life and existence.    Without the sun we would die.   On the sun are daily explosions  from that hydrogen and those explosions keep you warm.  Just at the right temperature.   Whenever you go out side in a little bit on your way to church or work or to get the paper… you can feel the warmth of the sun 93 million miles away.  And that  tells me this morning God loves you!

Think about those in the darkest parts of the jungles of Africa… I have Been to Africa several times in my life, well gone on Safari, we were on the edge of these jungles looking for wildlife…  The one the animals on the list that we could've seen was a wild cheetah we didn't see one, but the Cheetah is an amazing animal, the smallest of the cat family, other than these little felines in our homes… Does not have a roar like a lion, it is a have powerful jaws like a tiger, it is small in weight,  in small in stature, it does not have the strength of a Jaguar.  You cannot snap necks like a mountain lion…  The cheetah has to bring its prey down attack the neck area, and did you know that about 50% of the animals that a cheetah brings down he will give up to another animal?   Because he does not have a good defense except for one thing:  he can run about 75 mph.  The cheetah can go from standing still and hit 68 miles an hour in less than 3 seconds.    So think with me about the pagan African who sits in the jungles of Africa:  and he sees a lion coming up to  take the prey of a cheetah, and all of a sudden the cheetah jumps from standing there the running 68 miles an hour.  Do you think that that pagan African, in the jungle there says: "well something blew up in that thing right there and that thing just took off".   He can look at it and it says to him there is a creator who created this animal to move in such a way and God must  have cared for that animal to give it the ability to do that.

I want everyone to do me a favor today….  just humor me please?   I want you to take your finger, and run it down your 4 head and over your eye brow… Underneath your eye brow there is a collection a fat cells… Do you know why that piece of fat is there?  Why does the bone controller like that and come out like that?  Because God loves you.  See when we walk out in the sun and that sunlight is blinding us my eyes are shaded naturally by the contour but my bones in the fat beneath the flesh.  feel your eyebrows, it's the only hair on your body that grows up!  For some it may be the only one that grows out of don't know.   {okay, bad joke}  But, I do want to make a serious point here and it is this:  the only hair that grows on your body in an upward state, Why?  Because God loves you!  There's enough theology in your eyebrow to show you that God is in the existence.  But I would say not only exists but also he loves you, and he cares and is concerned about you!   Did you know that it grows up to roll the sweat off of your forehead and it moves that salty sweat round my eye not in my eye!  Why?  Because God loves you!  So that when he created you, He thought about the smallest of details on your face so that when you sweat you eyes would not sting from the salty sweat.

You ever stopped to thank God for the way he made you?  Have you stopped to think that everything in your body and in this Earth points to a creator God?  I'll tell you again we are without excuse…  Every single man and woman, boy or girl who's ever lived this without excuse.

The Attorneys General from Texas and Nebraska discuss the unconstitutionality of Obamacare's forced mandate that Americans must buy health insurance or be fined by the federal government.   What is next?  Will Obama force us to buy a Chevy Sonic in the future?  I mean after all, the U.S. government did bail them out...

Final thoughts from Sudnay

This past Sunday, I was sharing a message on the subject of justification.  I did not finish sharing some thoughts nor did I finish my sermon outline.  Here are some overflow thoughts:

A working definition:  Justification means to have imparted righteousness just as though you have never sinned!

That is a miracle! It can happen in your life as it did mine. That is what justification is!

Take note of these things today:
1.      The source of justification is God.
2.     The essence of justification is grace.  {Freely}
3.     The means of justification is faith.
4.     The grounds of justification is the blood shed by Christ.
5.     The position of justification is in Christ.
6.     The divine agent of justification is the Holy Spirit.
7.     The evidence of justification is work.

Statement of Truth:
James was not referring to a work that produced salvation, but a salvation that produced work!

Martin Luther at one point in his life hated the book of James.  He was the father of the Protestant movement.   He was protesting a religious system that said if your sprinkle a baby that baby would go to heaven when it dies…  NO!  People go to heaven when they die because they trust Jesus Christ not because a parent commits a child to God but because the child commits himself to Christ!

We are living in a generation that really fails to understand the Bible, sin and salvation!    Somehow we feel as if we need to go “light” on the gospel and “light” on sin  so we will fill our churches…   Listen: crowds without Christ is not Christianity

We are before a holy God who demands righteousness and hear me today:  without Christ we are not good, we are bad off…  if we knew how bad off we were it would flat scare you!  But we pastors and church leaders, God help us,  Have been light on sin to make you fell better and comfortable  and the result is you walk in and out of the services on your way to hell!

Luke 15 tells me that there is consciousness in hell,  I wonder if anyone is in hell today who ever came to hear a gospel message from a preacher who would tell the truth and they found out that the only way to God was to repent – they did not want to so they went and found a liberal preacher who would preach a belief system that was easy and accommodate their behavior?   And I wonder if when they died and ended up in hell if they ever wonder if they say to themselves:  I wish to God – I wish to God I would have listened to that gospel preacher!  I think that is one of the worst things about the consciousness of hell.

In Luke 15 you have Abraham in heaven and there is a man in hell asking for someone to bring some water and touch  his tongue to relieve the thirst and torment…    some want to say well that is a parable, but I beg your pardon, its not parable.  The Bible never uses a proper name in parables, and Jesus referred to both Lazarus and Abraham – this is a real story.  Abraham said, “I could not bring you water if I wanted to because I cannot cross this great gulf between us.”  Then the person in torment made this urgent plea: “ I have five brothers would you send someone to them to warn and witness to them?”

So what about you?  Do you know the grace of God that brings justification?  Are you being a witness to others to help them know and experience the truth?

Pastor on Politics

I really hate to get in a political game, but I find that drawing in my spirit to dialogue from time to time.  my problem is this: I sit in an office studying all day!  So, if nothing more, at least I can rant and rave, here to myself expressing myself the way I often do: with words!

I came across something this week that really, really disturbs me.  And it should you to regardless of the political glasses you wear.  According to retired Army Lieut. Colonel Robert Maginnis  the Obama administration has been meeting with the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt.

Should this surprise us?  I mean after all his actions are beginning to speak much louder than his words. Oh, but wait a minute, on the campaign trail 4 years ago he did say he had a Muslim faith… That's right i do remember, and then George Stephanopoulos corrected him to say his Christian faith.  However, his colors are shining brighter than ever before. (click the link to listen)

Why is this such a big deal?  The Muslim brotherhood is a group that helped Al Qaeda, Hamas, and lately has praised Iran's Hezbollah.  It has infiltrated into the United States with dozens of front organizations including the Council on American–Islamic relations, better known as (CAIR).

From what I can tell the goal of the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt is to turn Egypt into a Sharia compliant nation.  This would mean that Egypt would become a terrorist haven. Freedom would be destroyed, and the hope of human rights would be all but lost there.

According to Maginnis this would have large regional and global impacts:  “Islamic law could radically transform the country’s trade arrangements, use of the strategic Suez Canal, and tourists visiting Egypt -- a main source of income -- could be required to abide by “Islamic principles, values, and laws.”   With our ever growing global economy, all we need is one more country taking a hit.

Furthermore a radical Islamist Egypt would realign their partnerships with Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Iran.  Therefore in so doing would become more and more hostile to Israel and most of the west.    An already difficult situation would be greatly aggravated, and the tensions in place would likely be unrestrained.

Maginnis also reports:  “Egypt’s military has contained the Islamists until the present.  There is little doubt that once the Islamists control Cairo they will purge that military and in the future Egyptian guns financed by U.S. taxpayers will be pointing at Americans, Israelis, and some will find their way into terrorist hands.”

According to this report last week a rocket was fired from Egypt’s Sinai desert and hit a southern Israeli resort city.  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was concerned calling  the Sinai a “terror zone.”

Still, I wonder why the representatives from the world’s largest Islamic supremist movement, Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, met with National Security Council staff last?  Jay Carney, the White House Spokesman tried to spin it by saying it was because the group plays a “prominent role” in Cairo.   Really?  Give us a break!   We are doing nothing short of courting our enemies!  Does this president know what happens when we do such things?  Then again I'm not sure he cares.  I'm beginning to think He wants us to fall.   for the record with President Bush was in the oval office I had strong feeling against him too for courting the enemy at the White House.

I do wonder just what was talked about in that meeting?

Here is the deal for me:  When societies in human history say "no" to God, we have turned to tyrants in totalitarian type government leaders!  There has been a slow decay in our country since the second World War.  Do you see it?  I do.    Are you concerned for our future?  I am!   It has been evident, and clearly seen throughout human history that man is going to be subject to something! Consider what Paul said in Romans 6:12-13:   Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.  Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

This is what we are called to do is it not?  We have been called upon to be instruments of right, goodness, and holiness!    Paul goes on in NIV Romans 6:14 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace        and what happens when man will not surrender himself to God?  What happens in a society like ours that says God is dead, or that he doesn't exist at all, or that we don't need him to govern our affairs?  What happens to that kind of society?  Look at NIV Romans 6:16 Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--…”

Just to whom have we made ourselves slaves?
