Joining Jesus notes

Joining Jesus On Mission
Matthew 28:16-20

ThemeAs a new disciple of Christ, you are part of Jesus’ continuing mission for the world.
Statements of Truth:
  • If the devil can’t get us bound up in the world, he will get us busy in the church!
  • His last command should be our first concern!

Four Elements to Fulfill the Great Commission:
  1. Jesus Says, “COME”   Verses 16-18
  • They came to meet him
  • They came to Worship him
  • They came to hear him
  1. Jesus Says, “GoVerse 19
You and I are to deliver His message
God is not concerned about a Place but People!
  1. Jesus Says, “Do” Verse 20a
We can tell them with our lips, but we must disciple them with our lives
  1. Jesus Says,  “Remember” Verse 20b
I’ll deposit my Presence

Call to Action:

The ultimate purpose of the church is to glorify God!

The ultimate
task of the church is to do evangelism!

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.  -  NIV  Acts 20:24

Assurance of My Salvation
John 8:30-31

Statement of Truth:
The greater the potential loss the greater the need for assurance becomes.

Questions to Consider:
“Can a person really loose his soul?”

Answer:

              What is the Soul?

Answer: The soul is the immaterial part of you

Statements of Truth:
Every person’s soul needs to be saved

The assurance of being saved is the most important thing in your life

Assurance for your salvation is possible

Many people believe in Jesus, {at least they profess, “I believe in Jesus”}  But  everyone who
makes that profession is not saved

Belief that is partial, belief that is merely intellectual, and belief that is superficial is never
                  authentic.

5 False Assurances

         1.      I prayed the sinners prayer

         2.     My parents are saved

         5.     I am a good person

IV.  FALSE DISCIPLES DO NOT RECOGNIZE BONDAGE

Bondage Check Up:             {questions to ask yourself}
