·      It is a place of wrath

Question to Consider: What terms are used to describe Hell?

·      Hades

·      Gehenna

·      The Second Death

o   What dies?

§  Opportunity dies

§  Grace dies

§  Mercy Dies

§  Volition Dies

·      The Lake of Fire

Question to Consider:  What is Hell?  

Definitions:

·       Historically the church has understood Hell to be a place of eternal, conscious torment for the wicked

·       Hell is eternal torment for the unrepentant  

Hell will be populated by these three groups: 

1.  Satan & his demons 

2.  Those who have never embraced Jesus

3.  Those who think they have repented but they  had not

Question to Consider:  What is the purpose of Hell?

·      It is a place of wrath

Three Witnesses of God:

·      The voice of creation

·      The voice of conscience

·      The voice of God’s Words

Question to Consider: What terms are used to describe Hell?

·      Hades

·      Gehenna

2.     Heaven is a place prepared FROM God

3.     Heaven is a place prepared BY God 

4.     Heaven is a READY place

5.     Heaven is a NEW place

6.    Heaven is a place where God is NEAR

7.     Heaven is a place where suffering is ABSENT

8.    Heaven is a place where death is DEFEATED

Statement of Truth:

Whatever sin has touched and destroyed, God will redeem and cleanse

Commonly Held Misconceptions Concerning Heaven:

·      Every time you see a shooting star that is an angel getting its wings

·      When Children die, it is just God needing another angel

·      Heaven is sitting on clouds and playing the harp

·      You can not know if your going to heaven until you get there

·      You get to heaven by being a good person

Anchors of Truth That Hold:

·      In Heaven everything is new

·      Heaven is a HOLY place

·      Heaven is a place prepared FROM GOD

·      Heaven is a place prepared BY GOD

·      Heaven is a READY Place
