God’s Money: Grow it Faithfully

Luke 19:11-26 &  Matthew 25:14-30

Theme: Christ is coming again.  His delay does not indicate His neglect.   As the days turn into decades the lesson is to remain focused not neglecting the growth of our talents. 

I. Jesus Christ is a demanding boss to whom we must give an account

·     Jesus is the nobleman in the story

·     One day Jesus will return  [Notice a large gap of Time}

·     There will be a final accounting

II. Jesus Christ is a demanding boss who expects a return on his investment

·     The Nobleman gives to each one according to his ability

Keynote: Money is neither so important as to be the primary meaning of the text nor so trivial as to be excluded.

Noteworthy Nugget of Study:

The Mina and Talent equals the totality of what God has given you for His purposes.  A part of that is money.  This is a series about money, and I will apply it as such.   However, I know this:  The greater application is about way more than the money God trust us with! – Pastor Steven

God’s Money: Use it Effectively  PART B
Luke 16:1-13

THEME: For the hearer to utilize money effectively

Point To Ponder:  God wants you to be shrewd;  take it a step further God expects you to be shrewd.

Five Principles To Use Money Effectively:

1.   Value what you have, don’t waste it.

2.        Plan for the future, Don’t rationalize it.

3.        Operate shrewdly, heaven rewards it.

4.         Start early, God blesses it.

5.         Fire a master, you cannot have two

Statement of Truth:

All you need to get where you are going is to utilize what you already have.

Definition:

Shrewd means astute,  sharp and piercing.  Keen and rigorous in practical matters. 

Questions to Consider:

1. Do you truly value what you have?
2. In what ways have your rationalized bad behavior?
3. I’m later in life is it to late to start being shrewd?  No. If your breathing it is never too late.
4. Do you have two masters?  Are you willing to do something about it?

God’s Money: Use it Effectively

Luke 16:1-13

Theme: Jesus wants to save your soul, but he wants to save your finances too.  Do your finances need a dramatic overhaul?  Let’s learn to use God’s money effectively.

 Life Lesson:God wants you to be shrewd.  What we learn is this:  God expects you to be shrewd. Even if you make mistakes, do things wrong, or have regrets, there is hope!

A Brief Explanation of the Text

To use money effectively:

I.        Value what you have, don’t waste it.

Verse 3 Key words:  “What shall I do?”

Keynote:  Some of us have made mistakes, our next decision is very important.  What follows next has the potential to redefine us.

God’s Money: How Do We Earn it?

Theme: Honest, hard work for fair compensation assures that God will provide your needs.

·      What does it mean to earn it honestly?

God is incredibly interested in how you gotwhat you got.

·     What does it mean to workhard?

·     What is fair compensation?
