1 Peter 4:12-14   

I. OCCASION FOR TRIALS   v12

A. Trials will happen: Promise

B. Some trials will be hot: Purify

C. Some trials will be helpful:  Purpose

II. OPPORTUNITY FOR REJOICING   v13-14

A.    Suffering means fellowship with Christ

B.     Suffering means future glory with Christ

Statement of Truth:

God is not going to replace suffering with glory; rather,

 He will transform suffering into glory.

C.     Suffering means fullness of Christ

1.      Reproach of the saints

2.     Results in the saints

3.     Reward to the saints

D.    Suffering allows us to glorify his name

Statement of Truth:

A man’s devotion to a principle can be measured by his willingness to suffer for God
