Joining Jesus On Mission
Matthew 28:16-20
Theme: As a new disciple of Christ, you are part of Jesus’ continuing mission for the world.
Statements of Truth:
- If the devil can’t get us bound up in the world, he will get us busy in the church!
- His last command should be our first concern!
Four Elements to Fulfill the Great Commission:
- Jesus Says, “COME” Verses 16-18
- They came to meet him
- They came to Worship him
- They came to hear him
- Jesus Says, “Go” Verse 19
- You and I are to deliver His message
- God is not concerned about a Place but People!
- Jesus Says, “Do” Verse 20a
- We can tell them with our lips, but we must disciple them with our lives
- Jesus Says, “Remember” Verse 20b
Point to Ponder:
Do you feel like life is passing you by? Does it go quicker and quicker each moment, every season, and every day?
Are you busy with everyone and everything that demands your attention?
Many things are good, but what is best? Are we doing what God has called us to do?
People need the Lord; He has chosen to use us to deliver Christianity not just with our lips but by our lifestyle! Therefore, Disciples are called to know Christ, grow with Christ, and go for Christ!

Call to Action:
The ultimate purpose of the church is to glorify God!
The ultimate task of the church is to do evangelism!
The ultimate task of the church is to do evangelism!
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. - NIV Acts 20:24
