050320 ODF Sermon NOTES Strength In Waiting

Strength In Waiting
Isaiah 40:20-31

Acts 3:19-20
19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. 20 Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.

Theme: Do you find yourself tired, worn out by your circumstances, feeling like your spiritual tank is on empty? Let the awesomeness of God refresh and reinvigorate your faith today as you study this passage and wait upon the Lord.
  1. God is awesome and His comfort and strength is all we need!
STATEMENT OF TRUTH:
God enables us to not faint or grow weary because we have come to Him for comfort and when we wait on Him, we get the help and He gets the glory

LIFE LESSON:
We are not going to faint and grow weary.  Why? Because we are waiting on the one who never faints, never grows weary.

POINT TO PONDER:
Our God works for people who wait for him.

Verse to Memorize:

Isaiah 40:31  “But they who wait for the Lᴏʀᴅ shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Questions to Consider?
1. What is it that seems to drain you the most?  How can you give that to the Lord this week, and learn to wait upon him?

2. We are not to Rob God of His glory.  It is God who displays his glory not by our working for him, but his working for us. In what ways
do you diminish God’s glory by trying to hard in your strength?
