Who Cares?
From the book of Jonah
THEME: The book of Jonah is about a God who cares
and a prophet who did not
Statement
of Truth:
God
cares and so we should
I. Who cares? Jonah
did not!
a. Why did Jonah run?
i. Jonah did not run from God because he did not
like God
ii. Jonah
ran from God because he did not like the Assyrians
Statement
of Truth:
When you
and I become a follower of Jesus Christ, and he becomes Lord of our lives we
loose the right to choose whom we will love!
II.
Who cares? God did!
a. God’s
love knows no boundaries
b. God is a
giver
c. God’s
love can change lives
III.
Who
cares? WE should!
a. Jonah’s problem: He cared more about plants than people!
There are
two great questions that we have to ask ourselves:
- What breaks your heart?
- What are we going to do about it?
