Battling the Bottle {Part A}
Proverbs 20:1, 23:29-35


Word studies for the words wine in the Bible:
       Shekar - is a Hebrew (OT) word, translated in our English Bible “strong drink”
NOTE:  Shekar is condemned in the Bible

       Tirosh - is a Hebrew (OT) word that simply means grape juice
       Yayin - is a Hebrew (OT) word used in the Bible to describe wine
NOTE:  This word has a double meaning
Ø  It may mean intoxicating or that which is not intoxicating
Ø  Key: Context, Context, Context!

       Onis - is a Greek (NT) word that is translated in our English Bible “wine”
NOTE:   This word also has a double meaning

The Misery of the bottle…
       The contention factor
       The foolishness factor

       The death factor
