Wine is a Mocker

This nation has been mocked, and our county and state are about to be!

The brewers talk about the taxes that they will pay, but I ask you to consider the whole story.  I want to ask you to do your own studies and see for yourself the truth about growth.  Those who are for the alcohol initiative will do not tell you what we as a society will pay in taxes for crime, hospital treatments, rehabs, policemen, firemen, medical service by air, and by ground. 

They do not tell you about the billions in our nation that are lost in work.  They do not tell you about the people who spend money on beer when they ought to by clothes for their children.  

Money that should go to food for their family, but spent on the next bottle of booze.    They do not tell you about the countless mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers who are left on the side of the road weeping and broken hearted because someone they loved just died in an accident related to drinking. 

They do not tell you about the wives who are brutally beaten and bruised due to king alcohol altering a person’s demeanor.

They do not tell you that every time you and I write a check to our insurance company we write that check and send that money to underwrite protection against those who abuse KING Alcohol. 

Don’t buy into the idea that the brewers contribute to our society.  The TRUTH is they take away from us far more than they give to us.     Is it any wonder the Bible says, “Wine is a Mocker?”

Beverage alcohol is the great deceiver.  It is big business.  But dear friends it mocks this nation and it mocks the lives of those who use it!    Alcohol promises much and returns little.    People drink for happiness, but never do they find peace. No, not at all, they become unhappy!  People drink for joy and yet became miserable.   I am sure that hugging a toilet is not joyful.

We drink for sociability and yet become argumentative.  We drink for sophistication yet become obnoxious.  We drink for friendship and yet make enemies.   We drink for strength and yet watch ourselves become weak.  

We drink for sleep and awaken without rest!  We drink to relax only to get the shakes; We drink for confidence and become doubtful.  We drink to forget and yet we are forever haunted!   We drink to make conversation but our speech is slurred. 

We drink for freedom and in the process we do nothing more than enslave ourselves.  We drink erase our problems and watched them multiply.  We drink to cope with life and we only invited death.   Dear friend, don’t you see?  The Bible is right:  Alcohol is mocker it deceives and does not live up to what it promises!  

Those who want to pass this initiative do not want to show these things on their ads, they do not disclose these things in there conversations.  However, dear friends, I believe it is time we saw and understood another side to this business. Yes it is time we put down the myths and study the truth for our own understanding.    As you go to the polls, just keep in mind you are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequences that will follow.    Be not deceived: Wine is a Mocker, and it will mock us, and our state if we vote yes.  I ask you to vote no to issue number 4, and to the local option to go wet.
