MAKING FORGIVENESS FINAL  {Part 3}

Ephesians 4:31-

Theme: Forgiveness is a decision I must make.   In order to make forgiveness final, I must understand that the Bible calls for total, immediate, and unilateral forgiveness.

Question:  Why should I forgive?

I.         6 DAMAGING EMOTIONS ELIMINATED    {Review:}

Can you list them?    See verse 31

I.               HEALING EFFORTS ARE RENEWED  {Review}

a.     Be Kind

b.    Be Tenderhearted

II.              HEALING ATTITUDES ARE RESTORED

a.     Ways to know you have Forgiven

                                               i.     Negative emotions and feelings will disappear

                                             ii.     It will be easier to accept the people that hurt you  

                                            iii.     We will have a new appreciation for their situation     

                                            iv.      Our concern about the needs of the other individual will outweigh our concerns about what they did to us

III.            CHRIST EXAMPLE IS EXEMPLIFIED

Statement of Truth:

There are no enduring relationships without forgiveness
