1 John 4:7-12

I.    GOD’S LOVE PERSONIFIED AND PERSONALIZED   v7-8

Statement of Truth:

You cannot generate something that only originates with God Almighty.

                 A.    Loving One Another Testifies To The New Birth

                B.    Loving One Another Testifies Of Intimacy With God.

II.   GOD’S LOVE PROPITIATED IN JESUS    v9-10

                 A.     Propitiation includes 6 things

                         i.     God’s Holiness

                        ii.     God’s Wrath

                       iii.     God’s Justice

                      iv.     God’s Mercy

                       v.     God’s Love

                      vi.     God’s Grace

B.     Propitiation teaches us that God personally hates sin

C.     Propitiation teaches us the truth that Christ’s death satisfied the Father and was a substitution for sinners.

D.     Propitiation teaches us that God’s holiness required satisfaction and that God’s love provided satisfaction.

Statement of Truth:

What the law of God demanded the love of God provided.
